When You Can’t Get Back Home, Part Four

Yesterday I posted a video of James Taylor singing “Shower the People” live. James’ performance included a recorded version featuring singer Arnold McCuller. James could have enlisted someone else to sing the part but being the loyal friend, chose Andrew’s extraordinary voice, who has been with James for over 30 years.

There may have even been, I can’t say, someone “better” than Andrew available. I mean, this is James Taylor we’re talking about.  For you, there are a million “better” things just seconds away (although you may need a credit card). 

We know we’re at home when we’re not searching for someone “better.” We can appreciate the option of leaving, or even divorce, but the quest for the “better” doesn’t exist in many cases. Often you just need to bring your wanderlusting heart back to where you are and notice where you have reasons for gratitude. 

Could it be that you already have the best of lovers, and the best of friends, right now?
