When Your Trigger Finger Is Itchy

You’re not really living if you are constantly assessing threats. It’s terrible for your health, and it can be unhealthy for your overall sense of well-being and jeopardize human relations. You know that we are intended to be healers, but it slips your consciousness. All you want to be in life is a healer. Your self-image is one of a healer.

You can’t heal if you are always on edge.

In some cases, people are unaware of how tightly wound they are. They break and destroy when they set out to repair. They misread a situation. They jump to a conclusion.

If life in the 21st century is a boat, then the swells rocking, raising, and dropping us seem to be intensifying. We are tempted to be hyper-vigilant. Some, but not all, are losing sleep.

You won’t heal others if you are not healing yourself.
