“What Are We Doing?”
What are we doing?
Appropriately, Senator Chris Murphy was asking United States Senators.
So we might say, “What are they doing?”
Sadly, some are trying, but too many want to ensure they do nothing. When elected officials prevent change, the people can feel powerless and think that we the people should do something.
We must. We must be loud and relentless when it comes to challenging the corporations that support them. Those corporations are buying these congresspersons and as long as we are ignorant, silent, or apathetic, the country will lose more people to violence.
Corporate America, therefore, pays for mass murders. When we patronize them, they are paying with our money. We can’t let these victims and their families down. What would you expect from the country if someone in your family were shot next time?
Don’t let this tragedy news-cycle out.
