We All Get To Enjoy The Benefits

Who doesn’t want a harvest of good things? Reaping the benefits of our labor brings gratification like little else. Your joy, however, is incomplete until you know that your hard work is benefitting someone else who may not have contributed to your undertaking.

When you harvest the crops of your land, do not harvest the grain along the edges of your fields, and do not pick up what the harvesters drop. Leave it for the poor and the foreigners living among you. I am the Lord your God. (Leviticus 23:22)

You are lucky to have a harvest in the first place. So many factors had to conspire, like soil fertility, rain, and sunshine, along with the relief of not facing storms so fierce that they undo your efforts.

God has been good to you, but God is also good to the less fortunate. God relies on you to ensure that they know God’s goodness.

If your family is under-resourced, there is no shame in your game. We need allies in the struggle for justice. That’s where you come in. The opinions of the poor are not always correct, but those opinions are shaped by pain and exclusion and, as such, need to be studied. Society needs your voice, your vote, your activism, and your prayers.

We were hoping you could speak up and remind folks that none of us owns any of it.

The harvest is ours, together.
