Your Own Life
Having select people around you is like walking through the greenest of gardens. You do not lose value when you breathe in the inspiration, influence and support of your peeps. On the contrary, you are your best when you have trusted ears and hearts.
We tend to attract, and be attracted to, relationships that feel safe. There may be some relationships that are harmful to one or both parties, which means that the motives for being together need to be inspected. For the most part, our relationships are assets, resources that present us each with mirrors to ourselves and our ideas.
This affirms that we are somebody. You are somebody.
You will not always see eye-to-eye. To disagree is one of the ingredients of our wholeness. Only if we are open to being challenged can we abide in the place we long to fill. As wonderful as you are, you have a design deficit that others can, and will help you with, so that you keep your shine.
But you don’t want to get swallowed up. While we admire the professionals (actors, athletes, entrepreneurs, advocates, etc.), only you are a pro at living your life.
Do you have experience being you? Are you being your authentic self? This is what we need to practice—being our true selves.
It’s not a matter of striving and reaching. It’s something we realize.
For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases God. (Philippians 2:13)
