Can A Country Be Saved?
History tells us that it can happen. A modern example of this is the Republic of South Africa. They changed. I believe they will continue to change. Things the previous government made sacred no longer are. They changed their national anthem.
Plans are in place to introduce a pledge in schools:
We the youth of South Africa
Recognising the injustices of our past,
Honour those who suffered and sacrificed for justice and freedom.
We will respect and protect the dignity of each person,
And stand up for justice
We sincerely declare that we shall uphold the rights and values of our Constitution
And promise to act in accordance with the duties and responsibilities
that flow from these rights.
Refreshing, eh?
So, a country can be saved but must first be born again, willing to let go of its pseudo-orthodoxy.
Considering how many former pro-Apartheid officials and citizens acknowledged their error is breathtaking. This can happen, folks. Conspiracy-theory promulgators can see a greater reality. They can have a “Damascus Road” experience.
We saw evidence of this during the recent session of the Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th attack on the US Capitol. Hearts can awaken. Families can be saved, and communities, and even the country.
How are we to be born again? Do we pray? Do we take action? What action? I expect to address this on Sunday, July 17th, and you are welcome to tune in via Zoom at 9 am, and 11 am Pacific Time. My title is “The Non-abuse of Power.”
